Water quality

Friday 1 November 2019 11.37am

Reflecting the importance of environmental factors to people's health and wellbeing, we are gradually expanding the environment section of Understanding Herefordshire.

In a recent (September 2019) news item we announced the addition of a new 'climate change and greenhouse gas emissions' page and now more new content has been added covering water quality.

Britain’s rivers are an essential source of fresh water for drinking, agriculture and industry.  In addition, they play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and are a valuable recreational resource.   The new page provides information about water quality in Herefordshire, including the measures being undertaken by the Environment Agency and others to monitor and manage pollution.
